Rise Bar 5stars

I heard so much buzz from my Hell’s Kitchen friends about this new bar near Columbus Circle, so we decided to give it a try on a late afternoon after our Easter Sunday brunch.

I love the positivity of the interior of the bar, the tall front glass wall with a side bar evokes openness. The long bar offers original concoctions, not to mention BOGO on Happy Hour for any drink under $10.

The stage at the center of the bar offers different shows nightly, not the mention that their very spacious unisex toilet area is pristine.

But it was the awesomeness of the bartenders that sealed the deal for me, they’re genuinely friendly and greet you warmly as if they’ve known you for so long.

I will definitely come back here for some happy hour binges or even on a date night. It was such a great place to be.

You know how they say, “the hot ones you always eye are either taken or gay?” Well, this place is totally spot-on for that–I mean, there are always, ALWAYS ridiculously hot guys in here, but it’s a risky game to assume whether they’re really gay or not.

Therapy gives me nostalgia–it reminds me a whole lot of NYC in the late 90’s-early 00’s for whatever reason. Any place that can remind me of the good ol’, innocent days of NYC is a go (and if you do remember clubbing during that time, you’re obviously old enough to be my dad). I’m convinced it’s the combination of the upbeat music and the trendy, neon lights that makes this place so vibrant.

This place has some of the cheapest drinks in the city by far–$7 cocktails? Where else can you get that on a weekend?! Though it is cheap, I have to say that you really have to get the right person to make it strong. I’m told that with this place, apparently, how much liquor they put in your drinks depend on how “hot” they think you are–I’m obviously way out of their league. Music is average. There’s a lot of deep house, but the place is filled with so much energetic people who dance their asses off, you’ll feel so guilty for just standing there and hugging your drink.
